SENTRI Pass (GOES)
The Secure Electronic Network for Travelers’ Rapid Inspection (SENTRI) Program is a Trusted Traveler program administrated by US Customs and Border Protection for travelers crossing the border from Mexico into the US.
Like NEXUS card holders, SENTRI pass holders have access to dedicated exclusive lanes at the US land border for much quicker entry to the United States by car.
Add a Vehicle to Your Current SENTRI Pass
If you already have a SENTRI pass, you can have up to 4 vehicles on this pass. You can also add additional vehicles after you have already been approved for the SENTRI pass, or change your vehicle information if you get a new car.
SENTRI Application
When you apply for a SENTRI pass, your background is checked by Customs and Border Patrol for criminal records and immigration violations.
After your application is conditionally approved, you are then scheduled for an in-person interview with a CBP officer. At the time of your interview, the officer will review your documentation, take your photo, and take your fingerprints.
SENTRI Application Requirements
Applicants for the SENTRI program must:
- be able to legally enter the United States
- have a valid driver’s license
- have car insurance which covers incidents in the US
- have valid car registration
- have proof of employment or financial support
- have proof of residence
Applicants may be citizens of any country, but must have a valid visa to enter the United States if required.
All of these requirements must be addressed on the application form itself, and will be confirmed by the CBP officer conducting the interview for the SENTRI pass applicant.
